Archive Live

Archive Live, a tech talkshow parody with a egomanic type of host in a short film about 2 students who graduated from theatre school who ate AI chips and became AI. Also the filmcrew within the film were a mix of extras who acted as crew of the TV show but half of them were also the actual crew of the shortfilm, I was acting Boom Operator while I was actually recoding the scene at the same time, so that was a first for me!

This was quite a post-production nightmare, due to problems and hiccups in the pipeline. I’ll write about this more in detail when I get the final export of the video, this placeholder at least shows the sound design work I put in. There was 34 tracks of audio and this was a result of 3 weeks of sound designing / syncing audio. A lot of the audio cleanup was done on a rented iZotope RX Advanced!

The time I spent most on was cleaning up and syncing the the actor’s audio, which should have been the editor’s job but he made a mess of it. The part I really enjoyed designing was the glitches for the VFX segments and the foley I recorded for this film, I wish there was more time in the designing rather than the syncing and repairing. But it was quite hard to work during Code Red of NL when temperatures were soaring and my office was just too hot to work in! But I’m still happy that I got to do a sound design project after a long hiatus!
